AFRICANS CRY FOR A CHANGE

Ibrahim Traoré, the leader of Burkina Faso, has made significant strides since taking office in October 2022. The young vibrant leader over the period of two years has brought a great deal of improvement in the economic affairs of the people of burkina.

In January 2024, Burkina Faso inaugurated a mine tailings treatment plant, showcasing the country's commitment to responsible resource management and environmental sustainability.

Traoré ordered the suspension of export permits for small-scale private gold production to tackle illicit trade and ensure that exported gold contributes to government revenue

Traoré declared a "general mobilization" of the population to support the military in fighting against jihadist rebels, demonstrating his commitment to national securit, he has forged closer ties with Turkey and Russia, seeking to diversify Burkina Faso's international partnerships and reduce dependence on former colonial powers

While Traoré's presidency has been marked by significant challenges, including the ongoing jihadist insurgency and criticism from international partners, his efforts to drive economic growth, promote national security, and assert Burkina Faso's independence are noteworthy.

Ibrahim Traoré's leadership in Burkina Faso offers valuable lessons for African nations, particularly Ghana. As we reflect on Traoré's achievements, we're reminded of the significance of leadership that resonates with the youth.

During John Mahama's inauguration as President of Ghana, the cheers from thousands of Ghanaians, especially the youth, were a powerful testament to their aspirations for leadership
. The youth's enthusiasm signaled their desire for a leader who would reset the country for growth, as Mahama had promised
